Kosmos believes in protecting the environment. We conduct thorough Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) prior to all operations. The EIA for the Cap Boujdour contract area, including the exploration well testing the Al Khayr prospect, was conducted from February to September 2014.

SOCIAL IMPACTS ASSESSMENT

Kosmos recognizes the opportunities and challenges resource exploration and development can create for host communities. Prior to drilling the Al Khayr prospect, Kosmos conducted a Social Impact Assessment in Western Sahara to present the project to local stakeholders and address potential concerns.
